Fengfei Aviation completes Central Asia’s first large eVTOL flight while signing a 50-aircraft order. The NDRC cracks down on illegal “black flight” operations.
International Expansion
Fengfei Aviation Completes Central Asia’s First Large eVTOL Flight (峰飞航空)
Fengfei Aviation conducted a demonstration flight with its self-developed 2-ton eVTOL in Almaty, Kazakhstan—the first large eVTOL advanced air mobility flight in Central Asia. The company partnered with Alatau Advance Air Group (AAAG) for the flight and signed a memorandum of understanding for AAAG to purchase 50 V2000/V5000 series large eVTOL aircraft. Fengfei will provide comprehensive support including aircraft delivery, operational training, after-sales maintenance, and marketing assistance. [1]
Regulatory Framework
NDRC Promotes Orderly Low-Altitude Development, Cracks Down on Illegal Flights
National Development and Reform Commission spokesperson Li Chao has announced measures to strictly combat “black flight” activities—including unlicensed pilots, aircraft without airworthiness certificates, and unapproved flight operations. The development principles follow a graduated approach: cargo before passengers, isolated airspace before integrated operations, suburban areas before urban centers. Under controlled risk and safety assurance, the NDRC will orderly expand low-altitude economy applications while promoting rational industrial layout and scenario development. [2]
