Round-up of the most critical robotics & LAE news from the past 24 hours
Robotics
The second Hangzhou International Humanoid Robot Expo highlights a commercialization divide. Xingjiyuan deploys its M7 humanoid robot at China Post. Foshan launches a 10,000-unit humanoid robot super factory.
Industry Exhibitions & Deployments
2026 Hangzhou International Humanoid Robot Expo (2026杭州国际人形机器人展)
The second Hangzhou International Humanoid Robot Expo opened with 600 upstream and downstream enterprises participating. The exhibition showed a clear divide in the industry’s commercialization progress. Upstream component manufacturers are expanding capacity, while midstream module and solution providers are still deciding on technical routes. Downstream customers are testing the waters in high-frequency, rigid-demand scenarios. Cultural tourism and logistics are the fastest commercialization fields right now, while industrial autonomous operation still faces major hurdles. [1]
Xingjiyuan Deploys Humanoid Robot “Xingdong M7” at China Post (星动纪元)
Beijing-based embodied intelligence company Xingjiyuan (RobotEra) deployed its self-developed humanoid robot, Xingdong M7, at the China Post Guangzhou Postal Center. The robot works as a sorter, identifying parcel locations, grasping and flipping them so the shipping label faces up, and coordinating with automated equipment for delivery. It operates at a maximum speed of 1,200 items per hour, reaching 85% of human labor efficiency. [2]
Manufacturing & Core Components
China’s Robot Core Components Break Through Foreign Monopoly (绿的谐波)
Chinese robotics core component manufacturers are challenging foreign monopolies. Leader Harmonious Drive Systems (绿的谐波), a company with a market value of 48.6 billion yuan, is competing with Japanese giants like Harmonic Drive Systems (哈默纳科). The company spent a decade developing its own harmonic reducers using mathematical modeling and 3D simulation instead of traditional design theories. In 2025, the company reported revenue of 5.71 billion yuan, a 47.31% increase year-on-year, and a net profit of 1.24 billion yuan, up 121.42%. This continued into Q1 2026, with revenue reaching 1.40 billion yuan, a 42.96% increase. [3]
Foshan Launches Domestic 10,000-Unit Humanoid Robot Super Factory (乐聚机器人)
A new “super factory + school” model for humanoid robots opened in Foshan, Guangdong. Jointly built by Leju Robotics and Dongfang Precision, this is the first domestic automated production line with an annual capacity of 10,000 humanoid robots. The factory integrates ERP, WMS, and MES systems into a digital central control platform, using AI analysis to optimize production efficiency and manage mass production. [4]

New national drone airspace regulations take effect, expanding flyable zones across 34 provincial regions. Shanghai plans to add a second batch of drone flight experience zones after a successful pilot with zero safety incidents. Shenzhen prepares to host the 10th World Drone Conference.
Regulations & Infrastructure
National New Drone Airspace Regulations Officially Implemented (全国新版无人机适飞空域)
New national airspace regulations for micro, light, and small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have taken effect. The Civil Unmanned Aircraft Comprehensive Management Platform (UOM) updated airspace GIS data across 34 provincial-level administrative regions. Several provinces, including Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, and Sichuan, announced their new flyable airspace ranges, with significant expansions in Hunan, Zhejiang, and Shenzhen. The expansion aims to normalize low-altitude flight activities and support the UAV industry chain. [1]
Shanghai Plans to Expand Drone Flight Experience Zones (上海无人机飞行体验区)
After a three-month pilot of its first three public consumer-grade drone flight experience zones (Expo Culture Park, Century Park, and Shanghai Botanical Garden), Shanghai plans to add a second batch of zones. Since opening on February 1, the initial zones received over 16,000 reservations and hosted more than 10,000 flight experiences, averaging 101 flights per day. The initiative reduced illegal “black flights” and reported zero major safety incidents. [2]
Industry Events
10th World Drone Conference to be Held in Shenzhen (世界无人机大会)
The 10th World Drone Conference and UASE Drone Exhibition will take place at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (Futian) from May 21 to 23. Themed “Low-Altitude Economy, Flying into the Future,” the event will gather industry professionals to discuss development strategies and showcase new LAE tech. [3]
