Product Launches & Ecosystem
Unitree Launches GD01 Manned Transformable Mech Robot (宇树GD01载人变形机甲)
Unitree (宇树科技) has officially launched the GD01, a full-size manned humanoid robot that transforms into a rideable mech that can punch through a brick wall with one arm. Unitree says it can be mass-produced, but that the initial price of 3.9 million yuan is just a reference figure. Elon Musk liked a video of the mech on social media. [1]
Zhiyuan Robot Declares 2026 the “Deployment Year” (智元机器人”部署态元年”)
At the inaugural Hong Kong Embodied Intelligence Industry Summit, Zhiyuan (智元) founder and CEO Deng Taihua said 2026 is the company’s “deployment year”, with embodied intelligence going from “development mode” to “deployment mode,” from “able to move” to “actually working.” Zhiyuan has shipped over 10,000 units total, with revenue up 20x year-over-year. The focus now is stable operation in real environments: factories, hospitals, malls, exhibition halls. [2]
SenseMart Go Robot Convenience Stores Open in Shanghai (商汤善惠烧卖购机器人小店)
SenseTime’s (商汤科技) subsidiary SenseMart (商汤善惠) opened its first three SenseMartGo robot convenience stores in Shanghai — Xinzhou Tower, Baoshan Xinyefang, and Baoshan Riverside. The robot clerks restock when quiet, sell when busy, and can describe products and tell jokes. SenseMart plans 100 stores across multiple cities by end of 2026. The company says leading up the launch was five years of training with dynamic video analysis, SKU large models, and full-scene retail perception. [3]
Regulation & Standards
Hubei Issues China’s First Digital ID Certificates for Humanoid Robots (湖北人形机器人数字身份证)
The Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center became the first in China to launch a “digital ID certificate” (数字身份证) system for humanoid robots. Each robot gets a unique identifier covering hardware specs, intelligence rating, and factory registration. Beyond this data, the system also tracks the robot’s full operational history in real time: joint wear, battery status, task accuracy. Once a robot has an ID, it can be transferred to a new deployment site without re-testing, since the new operator can just pull up its full history. [4]
