Round-up of the most critical robotics & LAE news from the past 24 hours
Robotics
ROBOTERA secures over $200 million in new funding and Shenzhen’s robotics industry output exceeds 240 billion yuan. Is it surprising then that robot exports also surged by 42% last quarter?
Funding & Industry Deployments
ROBOTERA Secures $200M Funding, Deploys 1,000+ Units (星动纪元)
ROBOTERA (星动纪元) has completed a new funding round exceeding $200 million, led by SF Express Group (顺丰集团) with participation from Sequoia China, IDG Capital, and others. This follows a 1 billion RMB strategic round in March 2026. The company has begun delivering over 1,000 humanoid robots in Q2 2026, achieving a 300% growth rate. These robots are now deployed across more than 10 logistics centers for China Post and SF Express in Northern, Eastern, and Southern China. In specific logistics scenarios, the robots are operating at 85% of human efficiency and can run stably for 24 hours. ROBOTERA is also expanding partnerships with Geely, Renault, Haier, Lenovo, and Samsung in manufacturing and commercial services. [1]
Industry Data & Export Growth
Q1 2026 Robot Exports Surge 42% (一季度机器人出口)
China’s robot exports reached 11.32 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2026, reaching 148 countries and regions. Industrial robot exports saw significant growth, hitting 3.16 billion yuan, a 42% year-on-year increase. This growth highlights a shift from single-product exports to comprehensive “technology + product + solution” offerings, reflecting the advancing capabilities of China’s manufacturing equipment sector. [2]
Shenzhen Robotics Industry Output Exceeds 240 Billion Yuan (深圳机器人产业)
Shenzhen’s robotics industry total output value reached 242.6 billion yuan in 2025, a 20.56% year-on-year increase, setting a new record. The city has accumulated 12,000 humanoid robot-related patents, accounting for nearly 40% of the national total. Shenzhen hosts 4,676 enterprises with robotics patents and over 74,000 companies in the robotics supply chain. Notably, 93% of the supply chain components can be sourced locally or in surrounding areas. The city has also opened nearly 300 robot application scenarios. [3]

LAE
The numbers are out! 2025 saw a 51% increase in registered drones, 20% increase in output value, and 69.9% increase in flight hours. In major tech milestones, the world’s first large hybrid passenger eVTOL completed its maiden flight, and the first cross-Bohai drone logistics route officially opened, significantly reducing transport times.
Industry Data & Milestones
2025 Civilian Drone Output Reaches 176.1 Billion Yuan (民用无人机产值)
According to the “China Low-Altitude Economy Development Index Report (2026)” released at the Digital China Summit, China’s civilian drone total output value reached 176.1 billion yuan in 2025, a year-on-year increase of about 20%. Industrial-grade drones accounted for 125.9 billion yuan, while consumer-grade drones reached 50.2 billion yuan. The total import and export trade volume of unmanned aerial vehicles was approximately 23.3 billion yuan, growing by 44%. By the end of 2025, China had 3.287 million registered drones (up 51.0%) and recorded 45.3 million flight hours (up 69.9%). [1]
Logistics & Infrastructure
First Cross-Bohai Drone Logistics Route Opens (跨渤海无人机物流)
China’s first cross-Bohai (Bohai is a sea between Liaoning and Shandong) drone logistics route has officially opened, connecting Dalian and Qingdao. The route uses a large fixed-wing drone with a maximum takeoff weight of 5.25 tons. The 340-kilometer journey takes approximately two hours, significantly reducing logistics time between the two cities. This marks a major breakthrough in accelerating the innovative development of low-altitude equipment driven by scenario applications. [3]
Shenzhen Expands Low-Altitude Tourism and Logistics (深圳低空经济)
Meituan has opened nearly 60 drone routes in Shenzhen, partnering with over 1,000 brands to offer more than 160,000 products. Tourist attractions like Window of the World and Happy Valley have established large-scale low-altitude logistics systems, reducing delivery times to as little as 9 minutes. The city also hosted a 12,000-drone light show for the 45th anniversary of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. The economic result: over 1.2 billion yuan in daily cultural and tourism consumption. [4]
Education & Training
First Undergraduate Program in Low-Altitude Safety Management (低空安全管理本科)
The Chinese People’s Police University has established the country’s first undergraduate program in “Low-Altitude Safety Management.” The four-year engineering degree aims to train professionals in low-altitude safety control, risk warning, and counter-drone operations. The curriculum covers drone technology, detection and countermeasure equipment, and low-altitude security command, addressing the growing need for specialized personnel in low-altitude policing and airspace management.
